About

In ten years she hadn't stopped. Something gnawed at her from her very core. Each year she moved to a new place, met new people, tried new things. Six cities in ten years and the gnawing would only cease in a very specific part of the world.
Barcelona called to her and she went.

-About Me-

Welcome to my Expat Journey from Northern California to Barcelona, Spain. Barcelona never stopped calling for me after my first visit in 2005, and here I am in 2013, creating a life with mi media naranja ("my orange half" - "my better half"), my husband Andres.
Join me as I go through the joys, learning experiences, cultural differences and trials and tribulations of picking up and moving to a new country. Read about culture, customs, food and drink, current events and cultural revelations through the eyes of an extranjera (foreigner).

-Sizzling Saffron-

There are people who can see and feel things that the rest of the world can not. I'm not talking about ghosts, or auras, or the future, or the meaning of the alignment of the stars. There are people who can savor the aroma of a number, are familiar with the color of emotions, and can let the flavor of a word melt on the tongue like a piece of real, dark chocolate.
This is a composite of stories derived from my experiences in Barcelona. Life is rich with circumstances, environment, experiences, and people. Through the mixing of senses, observations, and imagination, this blog will share the formation of a new life in a new world.

  1. I love the picture of the city from the air. It looks as if it could be a painting.
